Dr. Kari Dahlgren is a Research Fellow in the Emerging Technologies Research Lab at Monash University. Kari is a social anthropologist and ethnographer interested in the social and ethical aspects of energy production and consumption in Australia. Kari holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a MSc from Oxford University, and a PhD from the London School of Economics. Kari has worked closely with the energy sector in her research as part of the research team on the Digital Energy Futures Project and the Future Home Demand Project. Through this research she has worked in a team to develop methodologies for how social science research can inform energy forecasting. In the context of increasing questions about the future of energy, Kari’s research speaks to the possibilities of imagining and crafting just and inclusive energy futures.
